Case in point: Wal-Mart*.
Thursday: doctor's appointment. She gives me two prescriptions: one is a low-dose medication to replace my current medication and a brand-new anti-histamine. I was right there when she e-faxed my prescriptions to Wal-Mart.
We return to Troy and go to Wal-Mart. My prescriptions aren't ready. In fact, they're not even there.
Fucking hell.
Friday, we call up to the doctor's office and are all like, um...what the hell? They can't give us a straight answer, but say "Oh, don't worry -- it'll be there now."
"It?" I asked. "I have two."
No response.
Saturday, we returned to Wal-Mart and retrieved my first medication. However...
"We can't fill the prescription because the doctor's office gave it two sets of directions."
"Two sets of what?"
"Directions. One said, "take three times a day" and the other said "take once a day at night on a full stomach."
"...?!"
"We're sorry."
"Just forget it."
Tomorrow, I THINK I might get that prescription filled.

In other news, I have a niggling, hacking cough left over from my cold last week. It's not disgusting or anything, but it's bad enough that I stayed home from church to avoid spreading it to the congregation. I am going to school tomorrow because I feel far less guilty about spreading germs amongst snotty-nosed college students than I do a nave filled with exceptionally nice people -- nice people I share communion with every Sunday.
Michael and I drove up to Calera (which is pronounced ca-LEER-uh) and Clanton on Friday night to take a look at neighborhoods. We're not planning on moving at the moment, but when we do we want an honest look at the neighborhoods at night. Calera was the hands-down winner; Clanton was a bit of a dump. I expected it to be the other way around, since Clanton is a bit bigger and more important than Calera (home of the emergency-something-rather in the state). Well, you live you learn, I guess.
*Please don't berate me about shopping at Wal-Mart. I frankly don't give a damn about your opinions on the matter. I like Wal-Mart, so fuck off.
