Everything TypePad: Announcing TypePad Micro

As part of our ongoing rollout of the NEW TypePad we are pleased to announce new social blogging features and the launch of TypePad Micro: a completely free level of TypePad focused on easy sharing of text, photos, and videos.

Yesterday, Six Apart rolled out Typepad Micro, their new micro-blogging service. I've taken a look at the system and it's pretty snazzy to say the least. However, I take issue with one thing in particular:

"No other blog platform combines these great microblogging capabilities — easy posting, profiles, following, an activity dashboard, etc. — with the full capabilities of a world-class, full-featured blogging platform."

Anyone else disagree? =)

Phoebe

Phoebe is coming up on her one year anniversary of being an indoor cat. She's done so well and we're so proud of her. She's now much more comfortable spending time with Michael and I. She loves Piper and puts up with her chasing her and popping her in the butt (because Piper doesn't have any front claws to hurt her). She's still very shy around guests, but that doesn't matter. Phoebe loves to jump on the the bed and roll on the pillows, even though she's not allowed to. Much like Thor, she's not afraid to voice her opinions and announce when she's hungry or thirsty or even lonely. But unlike Thor, she's got a soft, sweet little mew that doesn't offend.

We love our little Feeb. She's such a nice kitty.

Who is Posterous good for? : Performancing

The fact is, most people can benefit from having a platform that’s easy to post multimedia content to on the fly and integrating with social networks even if they are au fait with the likes of WordPress, TypePad and Movable Type.

I love Posterous and I love seeing it succeed. What a fine, simple way to blog. Along with my other two favorite blogging platforms, Tumblr and Soup.io, Posterous has truly brought blogging back into focus. No complicated magazine-style layouts, so silly configurations, no CAPTCHAS -- everything is simple, sleek and streamlined.

Way to go Posterous!

Cat Pictures

Yeah, yeah -- I know. The internet has enough cat pictures. But guess what? I don't care! =D

Facebook Cufflinks Ask You To “F Me”

"There’s a certain type of man that wears cufflinks. Don Draper, for example, wears cufflinks. But he’s also a fictional character set in the 1960s. In the real world, these days, it’s usually the well-off that wear them. Basically, you need to have enough money to not care about spending hundreds of dollars on buttons.
But CuffLinks.com appears to be going for a new crowd with its latest design. The “Facebook Me” cufflinks are $50 and feature yes, the Facebook logo on them. They are approximately 3/4″ by 3/4,” are “Rhodium plated,” and feature a “Bullet back closure.” One cufflink features the Facebook “f,” the other reads “me.” Classy."
I laughed when I saw these -- I don't think I've ever asked someone to "F me" before (at least, in terms of Facebook-ing).

A Few Small Things (in Bullets)

  • Next week is my final full week of school. And then Thanksgiving. And then finals. AND THEN I'M FINISHED. (And then I'm unemployed. =()
  • I'm going to be turning my domain (blog-her.com -- which redirects here) back into something again. Don't worry, I won't be moving or discontinuing this blog, I'm just trying something out. I really want to start tumblogging full time, but I haven't decided on how. All this and more in next week's Tuesday Tech.
  • I got a very bizarre email from my dad (as usual). This time it was all about how us big nasty liberals are trying to "PC the hell out of Christmas." Every year it's the same fucking thing from him: "the government is trying to take away Christmas!!!" and every year, he and the rest of my brainless conservative family members celebrate Christmas. NO ONE IS GOING TO TAKE CHRISTMAS. Shut the fuck up already.
  • After a week of problems, I finally got my medicine.
  • AllTop > Individurls.
